NASCAR's reigning champion will drive into Springfield Monday. December 18.

2017 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series Champion Martin Truex, Jr. will sign autographs for fans at Bass Pro Shops Monday afternoon. The session with the driver of the No. 78 Bass Pro Shops car goes from around 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Bass Pro Shops will hand out 250 wristbands guaranteeing an autograph beginning at 7 a.m. when the store opens Monday. If you do not have a wristband, you will have to wait in a line.

Truex last week signed a new sponsorship deal with Bass Pro Shops for the 2018 season. The deal is a 30-race sponsorship.

“Martin is a true champion on and off the racetrack and we are proud to continue supporting him and the No. 78 race team in 2018,” said Bass Pro Shops founder, CEO and avid racing fan Johnny Morris. “NASCAR is an excellent platform for Bass Pro Shops and we share in our customers’ enthusiasm and passion for racing. We’re very excited to continue our longstanding relationship with Martin Truex Jr., Barney Visser and our friends at Toyota.”

Truex dominated the 2017 season. He won a season-high eight times en route to the championship in the final race at Homestead. Truex also captured the regular-season points title. Truex says he is excited about the new season and the backing of Johnny Morris.

“I am looking forward to continuing my association with Bass Pro Shops and my good friend Johnny Morris and building a bigger and stronger relationship with 5-hour ENERGY,” said Martin Truex Jr., driver of the No. 78 Toyota Camry. “The sponsorship package is a neat concept and it will be our responsibility to make sure we deliver both on and off the track for these highly-visible and successful companies.”

The 2018 season begins February 18 with the 60th running of the Daytona 500.
