When Quebec announced a vaccine mandate for health workers last month, 30,000 of them were not vaccinated. That number has since fallen to 20,000, about half of whom work directly with patients, including nurses and orderlies, Health Minister Christian Dubé said Thursday. He reiterated that any health worker not vaccinated by Oct. 15 — in 29 days — will be suspended without pay. Andy Riga’s live blog has more details along with the day’s pandemic developments.
