Watch: Bubba Wallace Triggers “An Embarrassment” at Texas in 2021

Bubba Wallace has been known to constantly push himself to a breaking point and be quite hard on himself at times. After the race at Texas last year, Wallace’s frustration leaped onto new heights as he was the epicenter of a massive wreck which he later apologized for.

The wreck started after the race restarted when Wallace seemingly tried to back out after his car got loose, but was unfortunately too late for him to do so. Soon after he got rammed by oncoming traffic and spun out, in the process wiping out the number 43 car of Matt Kenseth. The 23XI driver’s car was totally damaged from the front with the front cover blown onto the windscreen and the engine pulverized. Lucky enough Wallace, escaped unhurt and so did Kenseth.

Wallace stated, “Just an embarrassment on my part. Just trying to get clean air, went to the middle and I was like, ‘This isn’t good.’ I backed out. By the time I backed out, it was already around. Sorry to everybody that came here to cheer on the 23 car. I let everybody down. I let my team down. Apologize to them. We finish that in Kansas.”

Bubba Wallace won his second-ever race at Kansas in 2022

After having only won one race throughout his half-a-decade-long Cup Series career, Wallace shook the grid with his second long-awaited win at the Kansas Speedway.

Wallace made himself a part of history once again by becoming the only African-American driver to have won more than one race in the NASCAR Cup Series following his triumph at Kansas.

The 23XI driver won the race fair and square, holding his team’s co-owner Denny Hamlin behind him through the final laps of the race. Wallace was extremely elated with his victory and promptly went ahead with his victory lane celebrations.
