Responsible NASCAR Fans Rewarded at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Miller Lite and TEAM Coalition Partner to Promote Responsibility at Track

Loudon, NH, Sept. 28, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- At the Bad Boy Off Road 300 it was all about position as drivers tried to secure a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Round of 12. Meanwhile, fans at New Hampshire Motor Speedway positioned themselves to succeed off the track by making the pledge to never drive drunk and always have a designated driver. These responsible fans were rewarded as part of an ongoing partnership between the track, Miller Lite and Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management (TEAM) Coalition.

Before the race, 198 fans made the pledge to be a designated driver for their group. Fans who pledged received a free souvenir photo, instant prizes and a chance to be selected as the Designated Driver for the Race. One randomly selected, responsible fan will win the Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes. The grand prize includes two tickets and two VIP experiences to the New Hampshire 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 16, 2017.

“Signing the designated driver pledge is a selfless act and one that we fully support during race weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway,” said David McGrath, general manager for New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “While we want people to fully enjoy the race weekend, being responsible and safe is of the utmost importance.”

The speedway, which opened in 1990 and hosts two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events each year, is located about one hour north of Boston in Loudon, N.H. According to the latest census numbers, the population within 200 miles of the speedway is more than 18 million people.
