Take To The Court At The 2018 New York Tennis Expo

LONG ISLAND, UNITED STATES, January 19, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The 2018 New York Tennis Expo will be a celebration of tennis that kicks off the inaugural New York Open, and that includes giving attendees and guests the opportunity to step out of the cold and onto the courts to play some tennis on this FREE day of fun.

At NYCB LIVE home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, February 10, attendees will be able to play on the very same stadium court that will be used by the professional players during the New York Open, and there will also be a “Net Generation” area with multiple 10& under courts for younger kids to play on.

The Net Generation courts are sponsored and will be run by USTA Eastern, whose pros will bring their expertise and passion for the game to the 10U courts and where kids can have a chance to show off their skills, whether they have played before or trying the sport for the first time.

“We are very proud to be a part of the Expo. We will have a couple of mini-courts inside the Expo hall, and will be doing red ball and orange ball demos,” said Neil Thakur, USTA Eastern’s Tennis Service Representative for Long Island. “We are also going to be giving people the opportunity to play with some our pros volunteering at the event. The whole idea is to have fun and further promote the game we all love.”

Net Generation is all about promoting the game and having fun, and the same can be said about the Expo.
The Expo is all about bringing our local tennis community closer together, and helping us in doing so is a number of local college programs who will be leading clinics and drills and also playing points with attendees on the stadium court during the event.

The players from the Fordham University, Farmingdale State, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Nassau
Community College programs will be on the stadium court throughout the day:

11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m. – Fordham University
12:15 p.m.-1:30 p.m. – Nassau County Community College
1:30 p.m.-2:45 p.m. – Farmingdale State College
3:15 p.m.-4:30 p.m. – New York Institute of Technology (NYIT)

There will be a multitude of playing opportunities for attendees, no matter the age or skill level, at the 2018 New York Tennis Expo. Whether you want to try tennis for the first time or see if you can win a point from a top college player, come play for free at the Expo.

Don’t miss out on one the country’s largest free tennis events as we usher in the inaugural New York Open, professional tennis’ return to Long Island.
