Many drivers have aspired to achieve such a commanding performance, but Max Verstappen and his formidable Red Bull Racing team stand out as a significant obstacle for any Formula 1 driver on the 2024 grid hoping to accomplish this feat.

Lewis Hamilton stands tall among the list of drivers who have recorded the most wins from pole position in Formula 1; however, Verstappen appears to be fast closing in on the driver’s record.

In light of this, and ahead of the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix, Sports Brief spotlights a list of drivers with the most Formula 1 race victories from pole position.

Drivers with the most victories from pole position

Lewis Hamilton - 61

The Mercedes driver currently holds the record for the most victories from pole position in Formula 1. According to data from GPracingstats, the 39-year-old has successfully converted 61 of his 104 career pole positions into victories. It is worth noting that Hamilton also boasts the record for the highest number of victories in F1, with 103.

Michael Schumacher - 49

The retired German driver closely follows Hamilton on the list of Formula 1 race victories from pole position.

Schumacher boasts a staggering 49 wins from his 68 career poles, posing one of the best pole-to-win ratios in the history of the sport. The former Ferrari driver's total career wins stand at 91.

Sebastian Vettel - 31

The four-time world champion also ranks among the drivers with the highest number of race victories recorded from pole position.

The 36-year-old boasts of 31 race wins from his 57 career pole positions. He might have a chance of extending this record, as talks regarding his return to Formula 1 continue to linger. The former Aston Martin driver also recorded 53 career race victories.

Max Verstappen - 30

The three-time World champion also makes our list with an impressive record of one of the best pole position-to-race victory ratios.

Verstappen has successfully converted 30 of his 36 career pole positions into victories, with the most recent being the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix.

The Dutch driver also boasts an impressive 57 career race victories.

Ayrton Senna - 29

The iconic Brazilian is also featured on our list of drivers with the most race victories from pole position.

The former McLaren driver amassed 29 victories from his 65 career poles during his years in Formula 1.

Senna also boasted an impressive 41 race victories before the unfortunate incident at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

Formula 1 drivers with the most laps led

Sports Brief in another report compiled a list of Formula 1 drivers who have led the most laps in the history of the sport.

The list featured Verstappen, Hamilton and several other elite drivers in F1.
